Conditions We Treat
This page is an entry point for patients considering travelling to Istanbul Voice Center. It gives a plain overview of what we treat and links to the detailed clinical pages.
We focus entirely on voice and swallowing. In practice that means we treat, among other conditions, vocal fold paralysis, benign vocal fold lesions such as nodules, polyps, and cysts, sulcus vocalis and scar, spasmodic dysphonia and other laryngeal dystonias, retrograde cricopharyngeal dysfunction (the inability to belch), swallowing disorders, and the needs of professional voice users. We also provide gender-affirming voice care.
Two areas draw patients from outside Türkiye in particular. Retrograde cricopharyngeal dysfunction is treatable with a single targeted injection, and structured, experienced care for it is scarce. Gender-affirming voice care, combining therapy with pitch modification surgery, is likewise not widely available in a structured form. Both are core work here.
