The Center

Mission and Vision

Istanbul Voice Center exists because voice and swallowing deserve a home of their own.

In most health systems, laryngology is a thin layer inside a broad specialty. A patient with a paralysed vocal fold, a singer losing range, or an adult who has never been able to belch may pass through several clinics before reaching someone who treats these problems every day. The institute was built to shorten that path and to raise the standard of what happens at the end of it.

Our mission

To provide focused, evidence-guided care for disorders of voice and swallowing, and to advance the field through research and the training of clinicians who will practise it.

We hold to a few working principles. We explain the reasoning behind a recommendation, not only the recommendation itself. We are honest about uncertainty, including when the evidence for an option is thin. We prefer the least invasive intervention that can solve the problem, and we say so when the answer is to wait, or to do nothing at all.

Our vision

To become a reference institute for laryngology in Türkiye and the wider region: a place where difficult cases are sent, where clinical questions become published research, and where visiting physicians come to learn. Independent academic voice institutes of this kind are well established in North America and parts of Europe. Our aim is to build one here, on the same model, adapted to this region.

That vision shapes near-term choices. We invest in office-based technique because it widens access. We measure our results because a field cannot improve what it does not track. We keep the scope narrow because, in our reading of the discipline, depth in one organ system is the more reliable route to excellence than breadth across many.
