Office-Based Laryngology (Research)

The question. As laryngology moves procedures from the operating theatre into the clinic, how well are these procedures taught, and how durable are their results?

The approach. Studies on the quality and content of office-based procedure training within laryngology fellowships, and clinical studies of specific in-office treatments, such as the duration of response after steroid injection for vocal fold scar.

Current status. Published work includes Quality of Office-based Procedure Training During Laryngology Fellowship (The Laryngoscope, 2024), Office-Based Procedure Training in Laryngology Fellowship Programs (The Laryngoscope, 2021), and Duration of Clinical Response After In-Office Steroid Injection for Vocal Fold Scar (The Laryngoscope, 2023). See Publications for links.

Collaboration. We are interested in multi-centre work on training standards and on outcomes of specific office procedures.
