Treatment and Follow-Up
Treatment does not end when you leave İstanbul. Follow-up is planned before you arrive, so that recovery is monitored, questions are answered, and your local doctor stays informed.
Before you leave
Before your return flight you will have a review appointment, a written summary of what was done, clear instructions for voice use, diet or activity as relevant, and a list of the symptoms that should prompt you to contact us or seek local care.
Remote follow-up
Most follow-up can take place by video consultation. For some treatments we will ask for a laryngoscopy or stroboscopy recording from a local clinic at a set point in recovery, so that we can see how the vocal folds are healing. The schedule is agreed in advance and depends on the treatment.
Working with your local doctor
With your permission, we send a summary of our findings and plan to your doctor at home and remain available to discuss your care. For treatments that are repeated, such as botulinum toxin for spasmodic dysphonia, we can discuss with you and your doctor where future treatment is best delivered.
Therapy after treatment
Voice or swallowing therapy is often part of recovery. Where possible, we help you continue it with a therapist near home, and we share the goals and exercises agreed here.
Frequently asked questions
How is follow-up done after I return home?
Usually by video consultation, supported by recordings or reports from a local examination where needed. The timing depends on your treatment.
What if something goes wrong after I fly home?
You will have a direct way to contact the team, and clear guidance on which symptoms need urgent local attention. We will speak with your local doctor if needed.
